Bio
Charleen L. Clifton, 78, Gadsden, died Friday, March 7, 2008. Graveside service was at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Crestwood Cemetery. The Revs. Mark Clifton and David Lee officiated. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directed. Mrs. Clifton was a lifelong resident of Alabama. She worked as a legal secretary for 38 years and was a member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church. She was active as a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and a youth counselor as well as a pianist in years past. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Luther Lee; her husband, Everett; and grandson, Beau Clifton. She is survived by her children, Bonny Gallardo, Nancy Browning, Mark Clifton and Jennie Thomas; stepchildren, Candice Scott, Rhett Clifton and Craig Clifton; siblings, Mary Ann Perry, Johnny Lee and David Lee; grandchildren, Mario (Lisa) Gallardo, Stephen Clifton, Sarah Hannah and John David Clifton, Caitlin and Zachary Thomas; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ashlin and Anna Gallardo; daughter-in-law, Kelly Clifton; sons-in-law, Brian Thomas, Steve Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Lane Berry, Bill Perry, Brian Thomas, Mario Gallardo, Johnny Lee and Allen Hawkins. A very special thank you to Earnest United Methodist Church, Hueytown, and the staff of McGuffey Healthcare and Rehab Center.
