Bio

BURWELL — Martha Mae Stahlecker, 89, of Burwell died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. The Revs. Josh Brown and Mark Maresh will officiate. Mrs. Stahlecker was born May 2, 1926, in Ord to James and Helen (Zikmund) Meese. She married Lester H. Stahlecker on July 24, 1947. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Barb “Bunny” and Dale Zulkoski and Helen “Betsy” Messenger, all of Burwell; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Thad and Roberta Meese of Ord; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Meese of Ord.
