Bio
Marion Junior Harmon , 90, of Bristol, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2015 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born and raised on a farm in Washington County, Virginia, a son of the late Marion Thomas Harmon and Nellie Cadle Harmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dwight David Harmon. Mr. Harmon was a Corporal in the United States Army and a combat veteran of World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, serving throughout Central Europe; he was a mechanic by trade; he was retired from Carolyn Manufacturing Company; he was a farmer, loved his garden and God blessed him with a green thumb; he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Bristol, VA; he attended East Bristol Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years and was instrumental in the construction of the first building of the church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, August 31, 2015 at East Bristol Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Birchfield officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at Mountain View Cemetery after the service. Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services.
