Bio

Raymond John Sladecek was born on June 15, 1950 in Taylor, Texas and died on December 22, 2009 at the age of 59 after a lengthy illness. Ray was a lifelong resident of Ennis who attended St. John's School and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in l971 and returned to Ennis to start his family. He is survived by his son, Matthew Sladecek, one brother, Joseph Sladecek; one sister, Rose Buckner and numerous nieces and nephews and countless relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother George Sladecek, his parents Joe Louis and Mary Ann Sladecek and his sister Theresa Sladecek. Ray was a rebel who danced to the beat of a different drum and he will always be remembered for his colorful personality and love of his family. His life will be celebrated with a service at Keever Mortuary on December 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
