Bio

Roy F. Bobbitt, 72, New Albany, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. He was born on June 15, 1936 in Orange County, Indiana. He was a retired welder for Kinergy Co. in Louisville and a member of Heartland Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his first wife the former Helen Coleman, his second wife, the former Carolyn Bisinger; his parents; three brothers; and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Rene D. Bobbitt of Jeffersonville; three sons, Roy D. and Richard D. Bobbitt, both of Princeton, and Roger D. Bobbitt of New Salisbury; three stepsons, Chuck, James and David Lockman, all of Floyds Knobs; a brother, James Bobbitt of Hardinsburg; and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. Followed by a private burial at East Cemetery.
