Wife's full name: Myrtle Theodora Degen Murphey Gross
First marriage Myrtle Degen . Marriage ended in divorce, he then married Dorothy Sprayberry. His sister, Lois writes Pink, left home at the age of 16. After a brief time with the circus, Pink joined the U.S. Navy. He served in World War I on the ship Arizona. He established a business in Honolulu, while in the service, as a laundry, tailor and lockers for the sailors when on leave. He continued the business and retired from the Navy. The laundry became very successful . During World War II, he re-enlisted in the Navy as Quartermaster. He was also a prize fighter. He became associated with movie cowboy Buck Jones who was an avid sailor and together they entered yacht races. In the 1950's he made two trips around the world. He became ill in the late 1950's and died in the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA.
