Dorothy Mae Matus Rejcek, of Abbott, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2006, at her residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott with Msgr. Henry Petter, Msgr. Frank Miller, and the Rev. Ed Karasek, as con-celebrants. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Dorothy was born in West, Texas, to the late Otto Joe and Louise Jannie (Sykora) Matus. She attended Mt. Calm and LaVega Elementary Schools and graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 1957. On April 19, 1958, she was united in marriage to Willie John Rejcek. She worked as a librarian for the Abbott Independent School District for fifteen years until her retirement on May 28, 2004. She also worked as a rural route carrier for the Abbott Post Office for over 18 years, a switchboard operator for Sears Roebuck and Company and a candy striper for the old Providence Hospital in Waco. Dorothy's unrelenting faith in God guided her actions throughout her life. Those who knew Dorothy understood that her faith was the best gift of love and hope anyone would have ever provided to someone in need. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and was so very proud of all her grandchildren. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America in Bellmead, K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11 St. Ludmila, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #66 and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, on July 9, 2004; and a sister, Margie Naninni, who also died in 2004. Survivors include sons, Larry Rejcek, of Houston and Laddy Rejcek and wife, Melody, of Palmer; daughters, Deborah White and husband, Bryan, of Afton, Christine Hanaway and husband, Robert, of Abbott, and Dolores Rejcek, of West; grandchildren, Kylie and Conner Rejcek, Madison and Jaxon White, Katie and Ally Hanaway; sisters, Mary Kaenzig and husband, Jerry, of Killeen, and Hattie Macha and husband, Dennis, of Burleson; and many godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
