Victoria Louise Pavlas, 82, of Richmond, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006. Rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, Texas, with the Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS, as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, Texas. Victoria was born in Cameron, Texas, to the late Herman and Josephine (Hollace) Sutter. She attended Cameron schools and was a graduate of Cameron High School. Victoria then attended Providence Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for the Waco Veteran Administration Hospital for a short time and then became the Night Supervisor for the Dallas Veterans Administration Hospital, serving there for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a Catholic and a member of the SPJST Lodge. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cornelius Sutter; and sister, Agnes Hogan. Survivors include her son, Emmerick "Rick" Pavlas, Jr., of Saudi Arabia; daughters, Frances McBride and her husband, J.R., of Richmond and Grace Gilstrap, of Hewitt; grandchildren, Emmerick Pavlas, III, Diane Ridings, Stephen Pavlas, Shawna Gilstrap, and Anthony Gilstrap; great-grandchildren, Collin, Conner, Austin, Evelyn, Christopher, and Victoria; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
