Bio

Raymond P. Mayhew, 70, of Hico, formerly of Sweetwater, died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday in Temple after a sudden illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cate-Spencer Funeral Home. The Rev. Orvel Brantley, of Lamar Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Nolan Cemetery. Born March 10, 1914, in Nolan County, he was a retired employee of Lone Star Cement Company. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; a son, T. J. of Temple; a sister, Effie Guthrie of Sweetwater; a brother, Neely of Sweetwater; and three grandchildren.
