Funeral services for Lucille King, age 85, of Brashear, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Smith and Rev. David Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cumby, with grandsons Adam King, John Maxey, Christopher King, Ryan King, Brad Glenn, Chad Glenn, and Zack King, serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Shannon Colfax, Amy King Sells, Kari King Smith, and Glynna King. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the funeral home. Mrs. King passed away on Monday morning, July 17, 2006, at Parkland Hospital, following an automobile accident in Hopkins County, on Sunday. She was born on September 21, 1920, in Winnsboro, TX, the daughter of James Merritt and Laura Charlcy Salmon Green. She married Oscar Bailey "O.B." King, on December 21, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. King was a homemaker and a member of Brashear Baptist Church. Survivors include: three sons, Ken King and wife Nancy of Texarkana, Roy King and wife Yvonne of Sulphur Springs, and Glyn King and wife Karen of Houston; two sisters, Bobbie Carder of Fresno, CA, and Jane Anderson of DeSoto, TX; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Lynn Green and Norris Ray Green; and one great-granddaughter, Star Nuckolls.
