Edna Janak, age 102, died peacefully in her sleep at home on August 3, 2015. She had lived in the South Park neighborhood of Beaumont, Texas for sixty-five years. Mrs. Janak was born on January 31, 1913 to Charles Kubos and Anna Janak near the Czech community of Velehrad in rural Lavaca County, Texas. On October 30, 1933, Edna married Josef Janak. Their marriage lasted 65 years until his death on March 10, 1999. The family moved to Beaumont, Texas in 1950. Mrs. Janak was a longtime member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, the Rebecca Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her parents and her husband, a sister Georgia Korenek (52590678) preceded her in death. Mrs. Janak is survived by her four children, Alfred Janak and his wife Deloise of Houston, Mary Fuller and her husband Don of Hope, Arkansas, Carolyn Cole of San Antonio and Robert Janak of Beaumont. She also leaves four grandchildren: Karen Nix of Brenham, Tammy Kegresse and Deborah Lynch of Houston, and Bill Fuller of Decatur, Alabama. She had four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10am on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park followed by a Celebration of Life Services at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church at 2pm with Reverend Ruby Nelson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 5~7pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
