The 1920 census recorded Grace Lee, 8, living in Bastrop County, Texas, with father C. A. Lee, 49, a farmer born in Tennessee, and siblings: sister Vivian, 20; sister Lucile, 18; brother Carl, 16; sister Nodell [May Delle], 13; sister Johnnie, 11; and sister , Mary Lou, 4. husband's name: Thomas Veale, died about 1932 child's name: Peggy Lucille (Veale) Schultz, born December 24, 1931 (from obituary of daughter) The 1940 census recorded Clement Alexander Lee, 69, residing in Houston, Harris, Texas, with widowed daughter Grace Veale, 28. The census indicated that they had both lived in Elgin, Bastrop, Texas, in 1935. Note: The name Nancy Jane Bragg was give as the name of the mother for both Clement A. Lee by daughter Grace Lee Veale and for Grace Lee Veale by E. McKinney. The name Rebecca Rhea Harris Lee has been listed by an online family tree as the name of the mother for Clement A. Lee. The name Jennie was written as the name of Grace's father's wife in the 1900 census, which could be a nickname for Nancy Jane, a miswriting of Janie, or she may not have been the mother of Grace.
