William Gallaher was born in Leinster Province, Ireland in February, 1818. He immigrated to the United States in 1849 and married the widow Ann (Southward) Sparlin about 1855 near Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. Residing in Collin County by 1860, he was a wagon maker and farmer. _________________ No burial place is noted in his obituary, but he was likely interred at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery near Wylie, where his wife was laid to rest in 1912. The location of their graves within the cemetery is unknown as the makers no longer exist. _________________ Lucas, July 14.--Died, July 2, at his home near Blythe Chapel**, Uncle Billy Gallagher, age 92. -- The Democrat (McKinney, Texas); Thursday, 21 Jul 1904; pg. 7 _________________ Births and Deaths in Collin County Since Last Report ...
