Fremont Tribune (NE) - Monday, December 31, 2001 WAHOO -- Frank J. Wotipka, 88, of rural Wahoo died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at his farm home in rural Wahoo. He was born March 5, 1913, in Wahoo. He attended West Ward and St. Wenceslaus elementary schools while living in Wahoo. He later attended District 71 school after his parents moved to the farm southwest of Wahoo. As a youngster, he was chosen to be a Mass server for the first midnight Mass in the then-newly constructed St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in 1921. He married Rosalia Haba Sept. 21, 1936, in Wahoo. He was a farmer. He had helped his son, John, with field work as recently as the spring of this year, although he had been retired from active farming for several years. He was a former member of the District 71 school board, Weston Co-op Elevator board of directors, St. Wenceslaus Parish Finance Board and Weston Credit Union Bank board of directors. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Survivors include: his wife; a daughter, Mary Kay Wotipka of Wahoo; a son, John (and wife, Venita) Wotipka of Wahoo; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister-in-law. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. The Rev. Rudy Oborny will officiate with John Peterson assisting at the Mass. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo and continues one hour prior to service time at the church. A scripture service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunrise North Cemetery in Wahoo. A memorial has been established to St. Wenceslaus Elementary School in Wahoo.
