Charles W. Foley was born 21 Mar 1863 in Clark Co., Ohio, the son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Leatherman) Foley, and died 31 Oct. 1937 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN He was married 1st, to Anna Elizabeth Toland, daughter of John and Mary Ellen (Best) Toland, on 10 Nov 1897 in Springfield, Clark County Ohio. She died at the age of 27 of Typhoid Fever on 15 Jan 1893, leaving two young sons, Arthur Lester and Wilson Floyd in addition to her husband, Charles W. Foley. Charles married 2nd, to Bertha McDonald, daughter of Wesley McDonald, on 07 Nov. 1894 in Auglaize, Ohio. Bertha and Charles lived variously in Ohio, North Dakota and finally, in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was a Baptist preacher. Foley was published in The Springfield News Sun on Sunday, Nov 7, 1837 as follows: Former Resident Called by Death Rev. Dr. Charles W. Foley Dies At Minneapolis The Rev. Dr. Charles W. Foley, 74, member of the faculty of the Northminster Bible School of Minneapolis for the past 15 years, died Oct. 31 at his home in Minneapolis. Dr. Foley served as pastor of the Windom Park Baptist Church of Minneapolis from 1919 to 1932 and was pastor of the Grace Memorial Church at Mound, Minn., from 1932 to 1935. Dr. Foley was born and reared in Springfield and numbers many friends in this city. Survivors are his wife, Bertha; three sons, A. L. Foley of Springfield; W. F. Foley of Breckenridge, Minn., and Robert Foley of St. Paul, Minn; three daughters, Mr. J. H. Helm of Plainsview, Tex., Mrs. W. E. Sumpter and Mrs. C. H. Charles, both of Colorado. Funeral services were held last Tuesday and burial was made in Minneapolis.
