Bio

Paul Eugene Scott, 81, of Mexico, passed away at 2:07 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital – Audrain. Graveside services with military honors will be Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at South Fork Cemetery in Santa Fe with Chief Ken Hoover officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. until noon at Arnold Funeral Home. Gene was born Feb. 14, 1934 in Mexico, the son of Paul and Mary Kathryn (Spurling) Scott. On Dec. 11, 1959 in Mexico, he married Ruth L. Perrigo. Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked for Kaisers/National Refractories, retiring on Feb. 29, 1996. Gene loved his family very much. He also enjoyed Nascar and old western movies, watching them day and night. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the home; daughter-in-law, Sandie Scott (Randy Walker) of Mexico; five grandchildren, Brandi (Jesse) Meyer of Mexico, Travis Scott (Samantha Hanley) of Mexico, Matthew Scott of Columbia, Kenny Walker of Laurie, and Chris Walker of Mexico; two great-grandchildren, Alyson Meyer and Reagan Scott; one sister, Mary (David) Martin of Texas; one brother, Jack (Flo) Scott of Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Paul Dwayne Scott and Mark Alan Scott; and two brothers, Bob and Boyd Scott. Memorial donations may be made to the Audrain County Relay for Life, c/o Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
