Bio
Michael "Mike" Scott Janda was born on February 8, 1963 in Caldwell, Texas to Robert F. & Mildred V. (Wegener) Janda. He was baptized on February 16, 1963 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell and confirmed on December 20, 1987 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dime Box by Rev. John Socha. Mike married Tammy Simpson on April 28, 1990 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Wilbern Michalk officiating. He was employed for the past 16 years at Cargill Nutrena in Giddings where he was employed as a Pellet Mill Operator. Mike was a hardworking, simple man who loved his dog and his family. He passed away unexpectedly the evening of Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home in Lexington. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert Janda. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Janda of Lexington; three children, Joseph Janda & Jess Ojeda of Giddings, Cameron Janda & Maegan Sanders of Lexington and Casey Janda of Lexington; two grandchildren, Alexis & Brenden Bell of Giddings; his mother, Mildred Janda of Giddings; two brothers, Steve & Jeanette Janda of Hills and Daryl & Rhonda Janda of Lexington as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. (Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home)
