Bio

Marvin Gene Sumbera, 52, of Atascadero died Wednesday Feb. 15, 1989, at his home. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Chapel of the Roses, with burial to follow at Atascadero District (Pine Mountain) Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Joseph R. Hercek and VFW Post No. 2814. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapel of the Roses. Mr. Sumbera was born Feb.9, 1937, in Texas. He was a self employed baker for 18 years, and was a resident of Atascadero for 11 years. He was a member of the Atascadero Moose Lodge and the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sumbera of Atascadero; two daughters, Sherry Moals of Camarillo and Becky Elliott of Sacramento; three sons, Skipper Sumbera of Rialto, Kenny Sumbera of Fontana, Todd Sumbera of Missouri; a sister, Mildred Hathaway of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Roses.
