Memorial services for Donald L. Brister, age 80, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Gentry officiating. Mr. Brister died January 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1932 in Pitkin, Louisiana to the late Harrison Brister and Gussie Fuller. Mr. Brister was a resident of Rusk for 20 plus years and also lived in Arlington for 20 years. Mr. Brister worked for the Anderson County Jail as a Jailer for five years retiring in 1993. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include son, Dennis W. Brister of Houston, TX, daughter, Donna L. Owens of Anna, TX, daughter, Vickie Charrier of Sanger, TX, son, Keith Brister of Rusk, sister, Alma L. Wolfe of Jacinto City, TX.
