Pfc. M.V. Spears Inman, Va. – Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (CWT) for Pfc. Marshall V. Spears, 22, killed Tuesday in an accident while on maneuvers out of Camp Stewart, Ga. Services will be conducted from the Spears home here, and the American Legion, Henry N. Tate post of Appalachia, will hold services at the grave. Burial will be at Inman Cemetery. Spears had been in the service eight months, and had been employed previously be the Interstate Railroad. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marie Marcum Spears, and by an infant daughter, Peggy; by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Spears of Inman; by seven brothers, Olen of Washington, Ore., and J.B., Kenny, Hiram, jack, Clay, and Orgie Spears, all of Inman; and by five sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Tally, Miss Georgia Spears, Miss Mary Spears, Miss Charity Spears and Miss Ruth Spears, all of Inman.
