Elgin was born February 15, 1939 in La Grange, Texas to Esther Mueller and Elo Wied. He grew up on a dairy farm and enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching television. Elgin was a mechanic. Elgin is survived by a son Michael Wied of Austin, Texas and his fiancé Rima Petrosian. 1 daughter, Karin Wied-Sanchez of Manchaca and 3 grandchildren, Josef Wied-Sanchez, Christian Wied-Sanchez, and Jakob Wied-Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Everett Wied. (Fayette Memorial Funeral Home)
