Services for William Hoyt Skidmore, 89, of Grapeland will be at Bailey & Foster Funeral Chapel, Grapeland with Mike Cook and Bruce James officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery. He was born to Tracy and Olive Green Skidmore. He was retired as a truck driver for Walmart Distribution. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Skidmore loved to play his steel guitar and sing. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Hoyt Skidmore; sisters, Lucille Smith, Cammie James and Mamie Gibson; brothers, John Octa Skidmore and Curtis Skidmore. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Skidmore; daughters Valory Elliott (James), Rebecca Rains (Tommy); a son, Stephen Michael Skidmore (Vanessa); a sister, Ann Turner and a brother Charles Tracy Skidmore (Tina); grandchildren, William, Guy, Loudana, Lori, Leah, Earl, Tiffany, Misty, Clayton and Jessica and numerous great grandchildren.
