Son of Elzey and Nellie (Parks) McCann. Married Mable Ferne Mitchell on October 10, 1922 in Oakland, Alameda County, California. Enlisted in the US Navy on March 7, 1917. Served as a Seaman during World War I. Honorably discharged on August 13, 1919.
