Darrell Wayne Zimmerhanzel, 60, of Bebe passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. Funeral mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales and will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 6 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales with Deacon Terry Brennan officiating. Darrell was born on March 8, 1955 in Houston. He was the son of Joe and Stella (Pavilica) Zimmerhanzel. Darrell married Laurie Murphy on July 3, 1980 in Gonzales. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed woodworking. He was the basic outdoors person who liked to go hunting and fishing with his dogs. Darrell was a very organized person. He enjoyed spending time with his family and a few friends. Darrell is survived by his wife Laurie; sons, Adam Zimmerhanzel and his wife, Erica of Kyle and Bo Zimmerhanzel of San Marcos; sister, Billie Jean Rutherford of Bebe; grandson, Isaiah Sanders and granddaughters, Phoenix Zimmerhanzel and Tessa Faith Zimmerhanzel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Stella Zimmerhanzel.
