Mrs. Jos. L. Adkins passed away at her home near Bartlett on Thursday, February 4th, at the age of 58 years, five months and fifteen days. Mrs. Adkins has been in poor health for several years, but because she put thoughts of others first, her loved ones did not realize the extent of sufferings until on December 15th, she became ill. Loving hands administered to her needs as best they could, but God saw fit to call her to a much needed rest. Nettie Eliza Sinnard was born in Springfield, Nebraska, August 20th, 1878. She was the eldest daughter of four children of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Sinnard with whom she came to Boone county in 1897. In 1900 she was united in marriage to Joseph Lee Adkins with whom she shared 37 years of happiness and sorrow. To this union were born two daughters and nine sons. One daughter and three sons died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Adkins made their home on various farms near Albion until 1929 when they moved to a place near Bartlett. She leaves to mourn her passing besides her husband and family, eight grandchildren, one sister and one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Albion Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Victor West. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
