Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska Helen Potrzeba, Ord Resident, 91 Helen Potrzeba, 91, of Ord died Fri., June 7, 2002 at the Valley county Nursing home in Ord. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12 at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery in Ord. Mrs. Potrzeba was born June 23, 1910 in Michigan Township of Valley county to Joseph and Laura (Jablonski) Micek. She grew up on her parents' farm in the Michigan Township and attended the Hillsdale Rural School. On April 18, 1934 she married John Potrzeba at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elyria. The couple farmed for 60 years in Michigan Township. They retired from the farm and moved to Ord in 1995. Mrs. Potrzeba was a member of the altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and tatting. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Mercedes Potrzeba of Elyria; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Micek of Elyria and Sylvester Micek of Ord; a sister, Clara Vancura of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Richard; a grandson, Troy Christopher Potrzeba; a brother, Edwin Micek; and a sister, Victoria Drudik. Contributor: Kathy Burr (47226369)
