Jim Schiller Sr., 76, of 48 Maxwell Drive, a sheetmetal mechanic at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station from 1944 until retiring in 1973, died Sunday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Lillian (Johnson) Schiller. Born in Yarrelton, Tex., he was a son of the late Joe and Willie (Richards) Schiller. Mr. Schiller was a World War II Navy veteran. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Jim Schiller Jr. of East Greenwich and David B. Schiller of North Kingstown; three daughters, Judith A. Battey of East Greenwich, Shirley J. Gravier of North Kingstown and Anita K. Warren of Grannis, Ark.; a sister, Ruby Massey of Dime Box, Tex., and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Lawrence E. Fagan Jr. Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
