Terrence Emerson Kaspar, son of Emerson and Gloria (Mares) Kaspar, was born January 16, 1949 at Columbus, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler. He received his grade school education at Platte County District #65 "Happy Hill", and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1967. On March 25, 1969, Terry entered the United States Army serving in Vietnam, where he was wounded in action and was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Service Star. He was honorably discharged on August 19, 1970. After returning home, Terry attended Platte College in Columbus. On May 26, 1973, Terry was married to Anita Ditter at the St. Edward Catholic Church. To this union three children were born: Jay, Ben and Michele. They made their home in St. Edward where Terry worked for his father at E. R. Kaspar Construction from 1975 to 98'. Terry and Anita divorced in 1993. Terry was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 10035 of Newman Grove and American Legion Crosier Post #226 of St. Edward. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by two sons: Jeremiah "Jay" Kaspar of Grand Island; Benjamin "Ben" (Cori) Kaspar of Genoa; his father, Emerson Kaspar of St. Edward; four siblings: Dan (Dori) Kaspar of St. Edward; Kathy (Ron) Spiegel of Loup City; Alan (Renee) Kaspar and Kevin (Bridget) Kaspar, all of Omaha; seven grandchildren: Micheal, Cassie, Jacob and Kelley Kaspar of Grand Island; Korbin, Benri and Collin Kaspar of Genoa; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Shepherd, his mother, Gloria Kaspar and a daughter, Michele Werts.
