Bio

Son of Robert Condon Mankin, a cabinetmaker and Edna Mae (Beck) Mankin, a telephone operator. While attending Oklahoma State University in the Engineering program, he was scouted by the pro baseball leagues and had opportunity to be signed with them, but Bill felt called to server our country during World War II and he enlisted in the US Army. In 1961 he married Betty Lou Leach. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife, sister Patsy (and her husband Dick Julich), and nephew Randy Julich.
