Funeral services for D. Phern Wolter, age 91, of Whitewater, formerly of Abilene will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Abilene with Reverend Justin Panzer officiating. Mrs. Wolter passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.She was born September 16, 1923 in Slaton, Texas the daughter of Paul & Elzora Walker. On January 16, 1945 she married Reverend Henry Wolter in Martinsburg, Nebraska. She is survived by her son Paul and his wife Laura Wolter of Park City, Kansas; her half-brother David & his wife Edna Walker of Cleburne, Texas; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry who passed away January 9, 1987, son Arthur Wolter, daughter Ann (Wolter) Piestrup, and a granddaughter Beth Phillips.Phern’s final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joint Lutheran Seminary Fund and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
