Mrs. John Naeve passed away at the family home Tuesday evening. Anne Kahler was born Sept. 24, 1856, in Hamburg, Germany, and she came to America in 1883, leaving her native land Nov. 3 or[sic] that year and arriving at Castle Garden, N. Y., after a 17 day voyage across the ocean. She was married to John Naeve, March 5, 1884, at Ogden, Iowa, and they lived there for two years, moving to Nebraska in 1886. They lived on a homestead in Sheridan county, Neb., for 13 years and came to Colorado in 1901. Surviving her besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Jenkins of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Dora Manchester, of Noah Loup, Neb., three sons, William of Noah Loup, John of Arch Mesa, Calif. and Alvin of Palisade; 29 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Two daughters, Louisa and May, preceded their mother in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from Martin's chapel. --The Daily Sentinel (Grand Junction, CO) Oct. 14, 1936
