Bio

Aleta "Inez" Hubacek, 95, died peacefully in her daughter’s home on May 30, 2015 after a long and blessed life. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Myrtle Cemetery. Aleta was born in Decatur, Texas, to the late Shelby Brown Lynch and Lois (Mathews) Lynch and grew up around the Byrd and Ennis area. She was a graduate of the Byrd High School. Aleta married Valentine "Weldon" Hubacek on August 2, 1944, and they spent the next 30 years in New Braunfels and San Antonio before returning to Ennis in the early 1970s. Inez was an excellent cook and was well-known for her delicious chocolate pies. She enjoyed playing forty-two with family and friends, and hosted a domino party for her friends at the Senior Citizens Center every Friday afternoon. Her greatest joy was visiting with her great-grandchildren and they adored her. She will be remembered for always plainly speaking the truth in love, her sense of humor, her loving and forgiving spirit, and the funny hat she always wore to the grocery store. She was a member of the Anthony Drive Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; and many great friends. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Glaspy and her husband, Joey; son, Mikel Hubacek; grandchildren: Chelsea Haskovec, Jacob Gilmore, Jonathon Hubacek, and J.W. Hubacek; great-grandchildren: Lillie Haskovec, Parker Haskovec, and Hagen Hubacek; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Z18
