Bio

The Madison County Record Huntsville, AR 28 Jan 1960 John M. Mathis, 78, of the Japton community died Sunday morning. He was born April 7, 1881. Survivors include his wife, Maggie, of the home; two brothers, Joe Mathis of Fayetteville and Clarence Mathis of California; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Drake of Fayetteville and Mrs. Mary Duncan of Washington. Funeral services were conducted by Leerie Ball Monday at 11 a.m. Brashears Funeral Home had charge of arrangements and burial was in the Grose Cemetery.
