Bio

CARBON COUNTY NEWSPAPER 1/6/1910 Joseph Seright, aged 82, passed to his reward on Dec. 9,1910. He was born in Indiana Feb 17, 1828,a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Seright on Sept. 2, 1852. He was married to Miss Martha Uttinger to which the union seven daughters and two sons were born. The children who besides his aged wife and mother survive their father, are, L. L. and D. O. Seright of Joliet,Mesdames,Moots and Boyd of Laurel,Mesdames Foor and Hall of Billings and Mrs. Tudor of the Gallatine Valley, Two daughters, Mrs. Frank Crist and Mrs.George Herbert have gone on before. Mr. Seright accompanied by his wife and family came to Montana in 1879 and settled in the Gallatin Valley. In 1881 they moved to Yellowstone and settled in the Gallatin Valley and settled on a homestead near Laurel at which place a residence was kept until 12 years ago when they sold out and came to Carbon county with their two sons. Since early boyhood he was a devout member of the christian church and while he was not a man to mix with people outside of his family his dealings with fellow men have always been honorable and his life as near a Christian was one as is possible. In a few words he was a highly respected citizen. His memory will be cherished by a large number of people many of whom witnessed the last rites at Rockvale cemetery Saturday the 10th. The eulogy was pronounced by Mr. B. L. Kline,pastor of the Christian church.
