Bio

Darrell A. Kleypas, 73, who resided in Laguna Park, passed away May 26,2015 in Providence Hospital in Waco. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Clifton Funeral Home followed by visitation and viewing until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2015, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton. Burial will follow in Smith Bend/Coon Creek Cemetery, near Laguna Park. Darrell was born in Burlington, Texas, to the late Eugene and Elva (Giestman) Kleypas and was raised in Baytown, Texas. He was the fourth of six children. Darrell graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in chemical engineering. He retired from Occidental in 1998. On September 1, 1990, Darrell married Mary Helen Grimm. He was preceded in death by brothers, William and Charles Kleypas; and a sister, Jeannette Richards. Survivors include his wife, Mary; sons, Ross and Regina Kleypas and their children, Alistair and Phillip, and Matthew and Lata Kleypas; daughter, Kimberly and Carl Roy and their children, Corbin and Brenna; stepsons, Keith and Walter Grimm; stepdaughter, Kathleen Mosley; brother, Thomas Kleypas and wife, Joan; sister, Marilyn Ryan and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Woods; other relatives and many friends.
