ATHENS-Services for Johnnie Wendel Fisk, 82 of Athens are scheduled for 10:00 A M Saturday at Athens Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Micheal Cash officiating. Burial with military honors will be 2:00 P M Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. Fisk passed away May 21, 2015 in Athens. He was born May 26, 1932 in Dallas to John and Nettie Mae Ribble Fisk. His mother did not survive childbirth. He was adopted along with his twin sister, Jackie by Milton and Willie Fisk, grandparents. Johnnie served in the United States Navy on the ship USS Kiskwaukee as a Radioman Class A and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a master plumber in maintenance at Texas Instruments in Richardson and then Athens Independent School District. He and his wife have been residents of Athens since 1985. Johnnie was the keeper at Athens Fish and Game 18 years. He was a hunter and fisherman extraordinaire, a lover of music and animals having several very special dogs. He was a member of Athens First Church of the Nazarene singing in church and several area nursing homes and family get togethers. He had a wood shop where he made trucks, cars and trains for children and even furniture. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, one stepdaughter, one stepson, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be 9 A M until service time at the church.
