Genoa Leader Times Feb 20 1947 p 1 c 3 Funeral Services Last Friday for Mrs. Smolinski Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Smolinski who died last Wednesday were held at Genoa Funeral Chapel Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev O.A. Fortune, pastor of the Genoa Methodist church conducting. Mrs. Claude Elm played the piano and the quartet Dean Johnson, Lawrence Pearson, Dwight Nelson and Clifford Larsen sand "Going down the Valley" "My Home Sweet Home" and "Nearer My God To Thee." Interment was in the Valley View cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Lund, Elmer Lowe, Charley Weidner, Art Munson, Leland Jernberg, and Frank Lowe. In the obituary published last week in the list of survivors the name of one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Randles of St. Edward was omitted. ***** Genoa Leader Times Thurs Feb 13 1947 p 1 col 3 Mrs. Smolinski dies Following Lingering Illness Long Time Resident Was Native of Germany Mrs. Chris Smolinski, 65 years old, many years resident of this community, died at the Genoa hospital yesterday afternoon, following a long lingering illness. The funeral will be held at the Funeral Chapel Friday afternoon beginning at 2:30 with Rev Carey Christy, pastor of the Congregational Church in charge. Burial will be in Valley View cemetery. Ida Maria Amanda Lutzke was born January 16, 1882 and died February 11, 1947 at Genoa, attaining the age of 65 years, 1 month and 24 days. A native of Germany she came to the United States when she was 18 months old with her parents, Herman and Amelia Lutzke who proceeded her in death. She was united in marriage to Chris Smolinski on November 24, 1905, and three sons and six daughters survive her besides her husband. They are: Alfred, William and Everett all of Genoa; Mrs. Mae Andreasen; Mrs Carrie Kretz; Mrs Minnie Smith of Genoa; Mrs. Millie Justus of Weippe, Idaho; Mrs Nellie Eller of Clarkston, Washington. Surviving also are 4 brothers, Herman and August Lutzke of Genoa; Edward Lutzke of Washington, And two sisters, Hattie Blair and Emma Furby of Fullerton, and 18 grandchildren.
