Thursday, April 8, 1943 Paper: Daily Nonpareil (Council Bluffs, Iowa) Page: 7 JOHN E STUHR John E Stuhr, 83, Minden a retired farmer, died at 610pm Wednesday at his home following an illness of six months of kidney trouble. Funeral services will be held at 130pm Saturday at the residence and at 2pm at the Congregational church at Minden with the Rev. G.B. Baumann officiating. Born Nov 27, 1858, at Laboe, Holstein, Germany, Mr. Stuhr came to American when 25 years old, farmed in Harrison county and then moved to Pottawattamie county about 20 years ago. Surviving are his widow, Elise two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Inman and Mrs. Ella Perkins, both of Shelby; four brothers, Hugo, William and Charles of Minden and Gustave of Compton California, a sister Mrs. Minnie Geiger of Minden; and five grandchildren. The body is at the Cutler mortuary.
