Bio
Bill Joplin of McKinney, Texas passed away May 16, 2015 at the age of 72. He was born December 31, 1942 to Leighton Alexander Joplin and Eva Mae (Crutcher) Joplin in McKinney, Texas. Bill was a 1961 graduate of McKinney High School and a 1965 graduate of North Texas State University where he was president of Theta Chi Fraternity. He married Paulette Chandler on November 22, 1975 in McKinney, Texas. Bill owned and operated Bill Joplin’s Air Conditioning and Heating in McKinney. Bill is survived by his wife, Paulette Joplin of McKinney; daughter, Charlette Vitz of McKinney; sons, Judson Joplin and wife Sherry of McKinney; Michael LaTour and wife Ashley of Lucas, Texas, and Jason “Jake” Keith Joplin of McKinney; grandchildren, Mandy Joplin Wilkerson and husband Kyle of Melissa, Jonathan “JonJon” Joplin of McKinney, Mason LaTour of Lucas, Lauren LaTour of Lucas, Leslie LaTour of Lucas, Ryan Chandler Vitz of McKinney, Jacob Taylor and wife Taylor of Fort Worth, Rachael Taylor of McKinney; brother, Joe Mitch Joplin and wife Roxa of McKinney; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leighton and Eva Mae Joplin; sister, Joan Klemm, and daughter-in-law, Christy LaTour. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joplin Angel Fund at Texas Oncology McKinney, 5236 W. University Drive, Ste. 1000, McKinney, Texas 75071.
