Bio
John was the son of William and Rachel Scarlett Lynch. He served in the Civil War as a Major. Married to Sarah Evaline Cleek on Sept 5 1863 in Bedford County, Tenn. They were the parents of 5 children: Mary Paralee, Martha (Mattie) Jane, Algil Alsey, William Cleary and Laura Ann. Co. E, 10th Tenn Infantry; enrolled at Shelbyville, Tn on May 3, 1862. Honorably discharged at Nashville, Tn on June 30, 1864.
