BURWELL — Stanley Kovarik Jr., 85, of Burwell died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. May 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Inurnment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Hitchcock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kovarik was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Valley County to Stanley Sr. and Bessie (Hulinsky) Kovarik. He married Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Wewel on June 21, 1954, in Burwell. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Betty Kovarik of Burwell; five children, John Kovarik and Gloria Sears of Burwell, Janet and Dave Erickson of Golden, Colo., Julie and Ken Thorpe of Rolla, Mo., Joanne and Steve Bailey of Lincoln, and Jerry and Angie Kovarik of Alma; five grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Ora Jean Kovarik of Loup City, and Bob Kovarik of Anaheim, Calif.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Al Dempsey of Parker, Colo., and Evelyn Kovarik of Denver, Colo.
