John William Leitko, Jr., 79, of Fort Worth died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Fort Worth. Visitation will be Friday May 8, 2015, from 6-8 pm, Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. May 9, 2015, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton, Texas with burial following in the Gentry's Mill Cemetery. On Sunday, July 21, 1935, in Hamilton, Texas, John was born to John William and Louise W Meissner Leitko, Sr. He grew up in Hamilton County and on Saturday, July 21, 1956, he was married to Wanda Sue Thornton in Pottsville. Mr. Leitko was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a true friend to many. John worked many years as a master carpenter before he retired. He was preceded in death by his loving wife on May 2, 2005, his parents, eight of his brothers and sisters and his grandson Randall Courtney. Mr. Leitko is survived by his three daughters, Rhonda Kay Cavett and husband Tommy of Cleburne, Rita Courtney and longtime companion Carl Bear of Fort Worth, and Regina Schroeder and husband Daniel of Arlington; seven grandchildren Melanie Wilson, Mark Cavett, Kevin Cavett, Katrina Schroeder, Ryan Schroeder, Jana Courtney and Bradley Cavett; four great grandchildren; and two sisters Leona Fulton of Hamilton and Ella Tischler of Fort Worth. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Mark Cavett, Kevin Cavett, Bradley Cavett, Ryan Schroeder, Walter Feldman and Albert Kratochvil. An honorary pallbearer will be grandson Randall Courtney. The family has designated that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
