Charles Joe Stalmach, Jr. (February 21, 1933 - May 4, 2015) Private graveside services for Charles Joe Stalmach, Jr. , 82, of Whitney, Texas , will be conducted in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney. Public visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2015, at the Crosier-Pearson Funeral Home (512 North Ridgeway Drive; Cleburne, Texas 76033). A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at White Bluff Chapel (1072 White Bluff Drive, Whitney, Texas 76692). Charles J. Stalmach passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 in Whitney, Texas, at his ranch. He was born on Tuesday, February 21, 1933 in Taylor, Texas to Charles Joe Stalmach and Clara Louise Hejl Stalmach. Charles married Dorothy Lee Emma Heckmann on Saturday, January 31, 1953 in Taylor, Texas. He graduated first academically in his Aeronautical Engineering, Class of 1956, at the University of Texas. He was a Research Engineer, and after receiving a Master of Science in Engineering in January 1958, went to work at Chance Vought Aircraft, now Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. In 1967, he was named Engineer of the Year in recognition of his accomplishments, including several U.S. patents, NASA Merit Awards, and published technical reports. He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer at Chance Vought, later LTV Aerospace for over 31 years, retiring in 1989. Charles worked many programs, including those in the High Speed Wind Tunnel. One of his studies was an Investigation of Ablation Effects on a Hypersonic RV Dynamic Stability ( AFFDLTR66-230). Charles also enjoyed working as an Independent Distributor for Amway for more than 35 years; being a loving example to his children and grandchildren; and dedicating his time and vision to his church homes, including organ installations, building committee chairmanships, church council positions, and drafting and implementation of his designs. He was a member of White Bluff Chapel, where he and his wife were active in the church choir. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy (November 9, 1934 - April 1, 2012) ; brothers, Burgess Clarence (B.C.) Stamach and Donald Daniel Stalmach; and sisters, Vivian Augusta Stalmach Stauffer and Bernice Gladys Stalmach Kruse. He is survived by four children and their spouses -- Dennis and Nancy Stalmach, Cheryl and Dusty Thornton, Pamela and Craig Gober, and Laura and Kent Goggan; 10 grandchildren, Natalie, Ryan, Ashley, Kristen, Clint, Cade, Zachary, Emma, Isabelle, and Sarah; sister, Dauris Galbreath; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
