James Collins marred Samantha Caledonia Foshee in 1871 at Allison, Jackson County, Alabama and were the parents of 5 children by the time of the 1880 cenus in the summer of 1880: James Collins 27 Self (Head) Samantha Collins 24 Wife Martha Collins 7 Daughter Mary Collins 6 Daughter Eliza Collins 4 Daughter Joseph Collins 3 Son William Collins 1/12 Son This family appears to have moved to Stone County, Arkansas around 1882, when Caldonia's older brother James M Foshee and family moved to Stone County. Caldonia appears to have passed away in the mid 1880 as James marries Margeret Sullivan on Dec 23 1886 in Stone County. By the time of the 1900 Census, the family had moved to Davis Oklahoma: James W Collins 48 Head Margeret Collins 42 Wife William T Collins 20 Son James M Collins 18 Son John T Collins 14 Son Minnie C Collins 12 Daughter Delilah L Collins 9 Daughter It is believed that Minnie is the first child born to Margaret and James. In 1910, James and Margaret are found living in Bearden, OK and James father at 93 (Joseph Collins) is living in the household. In 1920, James and Margaret were living with daughter Deliah Mahaffey in Freso, California in the household of son in law Martin Mahaffey. James appears to have fathered 7 children with Caldonia Foshee and two girls with Margaret Sullivan. Daughter Mary (1843) marred J. T. Welborn in 1892 and moved to Oklahoma with the family. J. T. Welborn is FAG 47174953 and Mary has not been located at this time. Husband of Margaret Tennessee Brightwell, married Dec.21, 1886 in Stone county, Ark.Son of Joseph Collins and Mary Persons.
