Margaret Susan Kresha A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Francis Church, 900 "H" Street, Tuesday, June 13th, at 10:30 a.m., for Margaret Susan Kresha, 88, who passed away on June 8th, 2006, in Bakersfield. Preceding on Monday, June 12th, will be a Rosary Memorial Service at St. Francis, at 7:00 p.m. Reverends Ralph Belluomini and Daniel Seiker, Margaret's nephew, will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Lane at Hwy. 99. Margaret was dedicated to her faith and family. She was born on a Nebraska prairie farm, the 7th of 13 well-loved children. During WWII she worked in Omaha for the Castle Hotel and Wolfe Insurance. In 1945 she married fellow Nebraskan, George Kresha, and joined him in Bakersfield. George, a city bus driver, preceded her in death in 1992. Margaret was a PBX operator and receptionist for a Bakersfield oil company before she became a full-time mother and homemaker. An active and devout member of St. Francis Catholic Parish, she contributed many hours in support of the St. Francis Mothers' Club, The Altar Guild, and Legion of Mary. Margaret was an accomplished seamstress and cook. Well-skilled in baking, she donated her famous cinnamon rolls to many an event. Since 1948, Margaret was a continuous card player with a Canasta group originally organized by Ruth Simpson and Eloise Ramsden, now including two generations of players. Immediate survivors include daughter, Diane Chaisson; son, Jerome Kresha; son-in-law, Donald Chaisson; daughter-in-law, Rosa Elia Aguilar Kresha; brothers, Maurice, Ralph, Gerald, and Francis Trausch; sister, Theresa Seiker; grandchildren, Marie, Mark, Marco, Ruth and Elizabeth; the Bakersfield families of Michael (nephew) and Cindy Kresha and of Richard (nephew) and Gayle Kresha. Visitation begins Monday, June 12th, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Doughty-Calhoun- O'Meara, 1100 Truxtun Avenue.
