Warder, Charlene A Nee Gross. 15450 Fieldstone Dr., Brookfield, Tues., Dec 3, aged 30 years, beloved wife of Benton B. Warder, dear mother of two, daughter of Alvin W. and Valda Gross of Hastings, Neb., sister of Dr. Gross of Iowa City, daughter-in-law of Benton A. and Georgia Warder of Chicago; granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gross and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malicky; also survived by other relatives. Services were held on Thurs. Dec 5 at the Krause Funeral Home, 9020 W. Capitol dr. Services and interment Sat., Dec. 7 at Hastings, Neb. From the Waukesha Daily Freeman, 5 Dec 1968: Funeral services for Mrs. Charlene A. Warder, 30, of 15470 Fieldstone Dr., were to be held Thursday afternoon at the Krause Funeral home, Milwaukee. Mrs. Warder committed suicide Tuesday about 3 p.m. by shooting herself in the head with a newly-purchased shotgun. Police said she went into a shed attached to the garage at her home and killed herself. Her body was found by a neighbor. Mrs. Warder had left a note for her two children, Scott and Wendy, to go to the neighbor’s when they returned from school. Police said the shotgun package was found near the woman with the price tag still on the box. Mrs. Warder is also survived by her husband, Benton B. Warder; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin W. Gross, Hastings, Neb.; brother, Dr. H. E. Gross, Iowa City, Iowa; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gross and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malicky, all of Nebraska. The private funeral services Thursday were to be at 1:30 p.m. at the Krause Funeral home, Milwaukee. Further funeral services and burial are to take place Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
