William R. Schmidt Jr. Sinton, TX William R. Schmidt Jr., 89, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, after a short illness. He was born in Dilworth, Gonzales County, Texas, and had been a resident of the West St. Paul area for the past 75 years. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army, had been a longtime farmer and the owner of the Schmidt Country Store until he closed it.He is preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Carrie Schmidt, his son, Randy Schmidt and his brother, Gerald Schmidt Sr. He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Georgia Schmidt of West St. Paul, Texas, his children: Madeline A. (Gwynn) Senf of Sinton, William R. (Gayle) Schmidt III of Richmond, Texas, Louis J. (Carol) Schmidt of Tuleta, Texas, David J. Schmidt of Mathis, Allan R. Schmidt of Sinton, Lawrence A. (Loretta) Schmidt of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Robert T. (Robin) Schmidt of Sinton, Mary C. (David) Culpepper of Sinton, 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and his sister, Joan (Alton) Winsauer of Odem. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home.Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, April 24, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Paul Rajareegam as celebrant.Interment will follow at Sinton Cemetery with full military honors.Pallbearers will be: his grandsons, Chad Schmidt, Casey Schmidt, Wesley Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Randy Schmidt, Richard Schmidt, David Schmidt and Kenneth Schmidt.
