Funeral services for Mary Louise Starrett, age 94, will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 2:00PM at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Ronnie Williams, Michael Starrett, Steven Starrett, Shawn Starrett, Josh Bullard, David Powell, Clayton Carnley and Doug Frank serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held at Tapp Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, June 26, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Louise, our beloved Mother, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Palomino Place Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 24, 1924 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the daughter of Forest and Mae Frances (Kerr) Ray. She married Louis “Doc” Starrett on April 9, 1940, he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a legendary cook, she loved her beloved dog, “Moose” and she had a green thumb for gardening. She is survived by her son, Glenn Starrett and his wife, Terry of Wills Point, Texas, her daughter, Debbie Sue Bullard of Mesquite, Texas, her brother, Vernon Eugene Ray of Tyler, Texas and her sister, Olivia King of Yantis, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, “Doc”, her parents, Forest and Mae Frances (Kerr) Ray, her son, Russell Ray Starrett, her sister, Pauline King and her sister, Odean Leonhardt.
