The Holton Recorder, March 8, 1923: Mayetta Department. Mrs. Mary Gibson and daughter, Mrs. Viola Sickles, returned to their home Saturday after a short visit with relatives, being called here by the sickness and death of the granddaughters and nieces. Lenora Ellen and Louella Mae, the twin daughters of James and Maude Sharrai, was born January 11, 1923, and on February 13 they took a cold which resulted in their deaths. Little Lenora Ellen died February 13. But little Louella Mae battled with life and death until Monday night at 11 o’clock she passed … they leave to mourn their going a broken-hearted father, mother, two brothers, Elmer and Earl, one grandfather, two grandmothers, a number of aunts and uncles … The Holton Recorder, March 1, 1923: Blandin.
