Calvin Reece Morrison, 90, of Thorndale, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Minister Royce Williamson of Highway 95 Church of Christ in Taylor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, in Mesquite Cemetery near Lexington. Calvin Morrison was born in Lee County, Texas, to the late Alfred McCain and Dasey Dea (Bownds) Morrison. He moved from Lee County to Thorndale in 1948. On January 10, 1948, he and Bobbie Cox were married in Thorndale. He was a self-employed house painter and a member of Highway 95 Church of Christ, in Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie, on December 10, 2014; grandson,Wayne Morrison, Jr. on September 6, 1979; sister, Odell Becker; and brothers: Voy Morrison, Marvin Morrison and Ardie Willie “Doug” Morrison. Survivors include his sons: Reece Morrison and wife, Audry, of Whitehouse, Dennis Morrison, of Salty, Billy Morrison and wife, Bonnie, of Salty, and Bobby Earl Morrison, of Thorndale; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Minnie B. Brown, of La Grange, and Jewel LaRue of Rockdale; other relatives and many friends. M18
